ComedySportz Road Show FAQ
What are the fees?
Our fees range from a few hundred dollars to several
thousand, depending upon what you want. We have shows that fit most
any budget and most events.
Our fees are quoted by phone. Contact us at
509-363-1CSz (1279) or fill out our
info request form.
How long is the show?
Generally 30-90 minutes. A vast majority are between 50-60 minutes. It depends
on your event.
Can I preview the show?
Absolutely. If you have a specific event in mind, contact us and we'll
get you into a regular weekend show.
How does the show fit my group?
We learn a little about you, then our referee knows what kind of suggestion
categories to use - your group makes all the suggestions, and the show
tailors itself to your group. It's simple and it works every time.
Is the content suitable for business, school or church audiences?
Absolutely! ComedySportz is a clean show. And
still funny. We have never had a complaint regarding content of any show. And we are very
proud of that fact.
What is "The Deluxe Show"?
This is our top-of-the-line show.
It includes two teams
of 4 actletes, a 1-2 referees and a sound person, along with our sound system.
The Deluxe Show is approximately 90 minutes including a halftime.
Splashier and bigger than a Full-Court. It is a good fit for
audiences over 100, but it is perfect fit for audiences greater than 300.
What is a "Full-Court"?
The Full-Court is our most popular road show. It has
two teams of 3 actletes,
referee and sound - and it clocks in at about 60 minutes. It's
a highly energetic competition between two teams of actletes, with the
ref getting suggestions from the audience, timing games and calling fouls.
It is a good for any size audience, but especially for audiences of
100-350 (or even more).
What is a "Half-Court"?
The Half-Court show is a good choice for those with
smaller budgets and/or limited performance time requirements (less than 50
minutes). It is one team of 3-4 actletes, a referee and sound.
There's no competition between teams, but the ref still calls fouls and
we play the games with ComedySportz energy and style. It's a little
less splashy than the Full-Court, but just fine for audiences up to 150
(or more, depending on your event.) We do a lot of Half Court shows, too.
Half Courts are typically 30-45 minutes.
What is an "Exhibition"?
An exhibition may be a show having 2-4 players that lasts
20-30
minutes. No referee and no sound. Exhibitions are usually designed for
very small audiences (40 or less). It works well at small events like
those at a private parties in a home or small-space locations.
What is a "CSz4Kidz"?
The
roadshow version of our ComedySportz 4 Kidz
show is geared and customized for kids. It is one team of 3-4
actletes. Of course, adults will enjoy the show as well, but kids
3-14 years old especially love the energy and action. We use the
kids as volunteers and kid suggestions drive the show. CSz4Kidz
shows are typically 30-45 minutes and are perfect for birthdays and
other kids parties.
Is ComedySportz available on the date(s) I need?
We won't know that until you call or e-mail, so please do. Sometimes,
we can accommodate people with as little as a few days notice.
Does CSz travel?
Yes. We've played from Anchorage to Austin and places in between.
Outside of the Spokane area, we do add travel charges to help offset room,
board, transportation and extra player time.
What about a show at our theater (at
West
227 Riverside)?
Sure. Any time. We call these
"buy-outs." We accommodate over 90 people.
How much space does CSz need?
We ask for 12' by 16' space. A raised stage is
necessary if you have more than 100 people at the show. We also need
access to one electrical outlet,
water, 7 chairs, and a clean, secure place for warm-ups and dressing.
We recommend a raised stage for audiences over 100 and that the stage
is positioned towards the middle of a room (rather than in one corner).
Does CSz bring a sound system?
Yes, a very good one.
Does CSz bring lights?
Typically, no. Room lights usually work well, although there are
a couple of exceptions. We can rent lights for you if you'd prefer not
to deal with it.
How much time does CSz need to set up?
Usually about 30-45 minutes, unless we run into a challenge. We prefer to
set up immediately before we perform, and tear down immediately after our show.
That takes about than 15-20 minutes in most cases.
We
will typically arrive about 30-45 minutes before showtime to setup and
test our equipment. However, some folks like us to set up completely before their event begins
and well before our showtime.
In some cases, there is a reasonable extra charge of $50-150 to pay our players
for an extra call or "sitting around time".
What about performance during dinner?
We strongly recommend that we start our show when
dessert is served. If there is no dessert, then we recommend starting
towards the very end of the meal.
How do I hold a date?
We send you our short event agreement. You sign it. Fax it to us. That's it.
We don't "pencil in" dates.
What are your deposit policies?
We hate deposits. So do you. ComedySportz gets paid on the day of the
show, or earlier if it's more convenient for you. Hand us a check when
we get there. Or give us your credit card info and we will charge it before the event.
How can I pay?
By check or cash. We also accept Visa,
MasterCard and Discover.
Can CSz help me put together a poster, event website or put info in
our conference literature?
Yes. Check out our graphics
and photo resource page. It has all of our logos in web and print
formats, as well as a growing number of photos you can use.
How often does CSz do this?
Dozens of times a year at private events; about 100
"homeshows" a year at
our own venue: the ComedySportz Theater (West 227 Riverside).
How will I know whether CSz will show up?
Good question. You don't know for sure. But
we won't stay in business very long if we don't show up for your scheduled
event. We have never failed to show up for an event. We won't miss yours!
Questions we'll ask you
Have you seen the show? If so, where?

How did you hear about CSz?
This is important to us, and often tells us about many of your needs.
What is your Date and Location?
If you have a location, that's great! If not, we've performed in several
different spaces in the Spokane area. Ask us. Also, does your
venue have its own sound system that we might be able to plug ours into?
What time of day?
We often sign agreements with an exact time "TBD" (to be determined).
Our deadline for setting a time is the Tuesday before the event. Don't
sweat the exact timing yet.
What and who is your expected attendance?
How many people do you expect? If you are not
sure, "ball-park" it for us. What is the expected make-up of the audience?
Adults? Children? Teens?

What is the event all about? Do you have specific goals?
